Colonoscopy this week - advice please

I have a colonoscopy this week and wonder if a kind MNer who has had one can advise on a couple of things:
I have plenvu laxatives to take at 7pm Thurs and 7am Fri. When am I likely to be able to get to bed & sleep on Thurs? I gather it can take 2 hours to work & then I will need to go to the loo about 15 times or so
After the next morning laxative do I need to rush to the loo loads of times for hours & possibly on the way to the hospital as well?
I am having gas & air as am on my own on Friday afternoon - should I splash out on a taxi - or will I be fine to drive? Its about 40mins trip and I'm not sure if I might feel physically exchausted due to no food and a lot of discomfort or pain afterwards so a taxi would be safer.
Would be very grateful if anyone can advise.
Also - if the result is bad news - do they tell you straight away?
