Pain in both sides and lower back

I'm having some tests for a swallowing problem that has meant that I've not been able to eat solid food for over three weeks. I've only been able to eat soup and porridge and milky drinks, and have dropped a couple of jeans sizes. It's in hand. The swallowing thing is being properly investigated and I have tests next Monday. In the meantime I have Complan to help make up for what I'm missing on the nutrient front.

I noticed y/day that each time I breathe in I'm aware of pain in both of my sides, and also some lower back pain. It's not terribly painful but it's quite noticeable. I'm wondering whether it's a kidney thing, but I don't think it's an infection (I had one a few months ago and this doesn't feel the same).

Question is whether this could be related to the fact that I'm not able to eat properly at the moment. I don't think I'm drinking any less than usual. I'm not sure whether it's something I should mention to my GP.

If you're already under investigation for something and your symptoms have changed, I think it would be sensible to chat with your doc.
