I have recently had my iron levels checked and is showing my iron levels at 100 and ferritin levels of 4.
My GP has started me on iron 2X daily. However Im due to go on holiday abroad in 19 day and was wondering how soon I should start to feel better in myself?

I had similar results years ago, but my Hb was 90 and ferritin 2! Red blood cells take 3mths to full replicate, so its not a quick fix at all! You might be feeling better in 19days, but its far more likely to be psychosomatic than actual improvement in your levels.

Your diet can also help absorption of iron. Always take your meds with Vit C rich food such as a glass of orange juice or a meal with peppers in it. Avoid tannins, especially when taking your meds, so no tea/coffee/red wine etc and cut these down anyways till fully recovered. I hope you enjoy your holiday.
