I had sex a few months ago. One night stand. He texted me a couple of days after and said he had a cold sore on his face. He went down on me whilst it was probably brewing, didn’t use anything as what can you use for that - we used a condom for intercourse but nothing for oral.

I’ve since come out with what my GP surgery are 99% convinced is herpes. I’ve got spots all over my labia, about 10-15 - I’m bloody sore. Nurse said there’s a couple of ulcers and a couple infected. They thought it was some sort of hair follicle thing but I’ve got lumps on the inside too.

I’m mortified. I’m scared I’m stuck like this, what happens in the future? I take it I have to tell any future partners before we sleep together? Like he should have…

So sorry OP. He really should have told you. There's a vaccine being developed that can reduce outbreaks.

Thanks. It’s agony tonight. Very much regretting that night!

He is probably a liar covering his back
He had genital herpes and knew it

has it been tested for the strain?

Hi lovely. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.
Herpes isn't something to be ashamed of. Has your GP given you information on it? Do you know that even chicken pox are a form of herpes? So many things are. 😌
This is my friends story who gave me permission to share-

I have also been in the EXACT same situation. A guy I was seeing never told me he was prone to getting cold sores and went down on me, we used protection for sex but three days later I came out in a rash, instantly went to the sexual health clinic and was diagnosed with herpes. You might have one break out, you might have loads! But just know that your first breakout will always be the worst. As long as you're diagnosed your clinic (depending where you are) can send it over to your pharmacist so if you ever have a breakout you can get your prescription from them.

That sounds awful and very painful. Have you got analgesia?

For future reference didn’t use anything as what can you use for that
Its called a dental dam, which is similar to a flattened condom and used specifically to prevent disease transfer during oral sex.

Its super common

Get some anti virals off the doctor. Take them for outbreaks. If you get them frequently you could take them daily as a preventative to having an outbreak or being able to pass it on

Exactly the same here. Please go to herpes.org.uk
Lots of reassurance there. Often never comes back again. I've had it for 30 years, never told my husband!

These guys are awesome and they have a helpline.
Also call your local sexual health clinic and ask to speak to a health adviser. You should be able to do this via telephone or face to face.
I work in Sexual health and really don't mind if you message me.

70% of people have type 1 herpes. You are very cynical!
