Very sore bum, what is it?

The only way to describe it is that my bumhole is really sore and stings, and feels as if I need to go to the toilet even when I've just been. Poos seem normal and healthy, but there's a sting all the time, probably been about a week that I've felt like this. Will it just go?

Could it be piles?

Luckyclover9 · 09/07/2024 10:55

Maybe an anal fissure? They are often very painful

Bumrap · 09/07/2024 12:39

I've had piles and it didn't feel like this, so maybe the fissure thing is a possibility....but wouldn't that bleed? There's no evidence of damage, so to speak, just a stinging pain. As it's almost impossible to get a gp appt, can I rather embarrassingly ask the pharmacist? Not that I'm going to whip my arse out in the middle of Lloyds.

Try putting savlon on it? Other antiseptic creams are available.

Sounds like haemorrhoids to me. That is exactly how it feels when I get them. You might have an external one rather than internal. I highly recommend Germoloids cream. It cleared mine up in a matter of days and the relief is amazing.

systemicmotivations · 09/07/2024 12:46

PS you can order Germoloids on Amazon or Boots to save embarrassment Wink

Mukirinessly · 09/07/2024 12:46

Wash thoroughly after each bowel movement and dry thoroughly. Use a light dusting of talcum powder to help it dry.

Sounds like a new haemorrhoid making an appearance. Slightly like someone is poking with a shard of glass. I think the gp is needed as they can prescribe stringer stuff so I would make an appointment and in the meantime get something from the chemist. You only need to describe the symptoms, they won't examine you. If you don't want to say the words at the counter, ask to go in their private room. Warm baths can also help ease the pain. Can you do your own exam if it's an external one? I did and was amazed how something so small can be so painful.

Thanks all. I'm going to give Germoloids a go.

Could be a fungal infection, get something like dakacort [ probably spelt wrong ]

systemicmotivations · 09/07/2024 13:08

Just another tip that might help- (along with the cream)
Sleep on your side and lie on your side as much as you're able, put a pillow or cushion between your thighs while on your side as it takes a lot of pressure off the sore area. Also up your water intake and try to perch on a cushion if you absolutely have to sit upright. Best of luck OP it's not a nice feeling at all. I was you this time last week but no pain this week so you will get there!
