Mahoosive bruise on my leg

PiningForTheMoon · 08/07/2024 20:31

Fell off a bed frame, trying to clean the ceiling on Tuesday.

I'm a bit worried about how bloody big it is. Is there anything I can or should do or shall I just leave it to heal?

Arnica or witchhazel is amazing for bruises. I think after 6 days it's probably working its way out. They get darker before going

Ouch!! Did you bang it up high? So the blood is moving (gravity)?
If it looks worse just get a professional opinion

I’ve got some witchhazel, I’ll douse it tomorrow.

I banged it just below my knee but the bruising seems to be worst around my ankles. As you say, gravity.

I rested my leg up against the wall earlier as it was aching quite a bit.

I would get it checked out just to be safe OP, is the area warm to touch??
Plenty of fluids and elevate when you can

It is pretty warm, yes.

Do you think there could be an issue with it?

OP I would get this checked out with your GP or Nurse to make sure there's no clotting issue / dvt etc, especially if warm to touch. Just a precaution xx

Thanks @jellybeanzzz

I'll pop to the pharmacy tomorrow and see what they say.

Hi @jellybeanzzz

I saw a GP earlier today who thankfully reassured me that as awful as my leg looks, it is exactly as she would expect given the impact and the time lapsed.

She prodded it a few times (ouch) and was comfortable with that there are no clots and the skin isn’t broken. She commented that I’m lucky I didn’t break it.

While I’m not feeling particularly lucky, I’m grateful for your advice. Thank you 🙏🏼
