Went over on my ankle yesterday

I was walking through town and my ankle gave way on a dodgy pavement
Yes apart from being quite embarassing (was right next to a bus full of people too) it is quite sore.
It hasn't swollen much and stopped hurting quite soon after it happening but this morning it is quite painful, should I get it checked out or keep it rested with cold compress?
I know when I've one this before and it swelled up huge and got more painful later it was ligament damage but this isn't like that.

I would get it checked out just to be on the safe side.
Hope the pain goes soon.

Got it checked and it is just sprained.
I am supposed to be sat on the sofa with it elevated I can see that happening - it is elevated on a box under my desk!!
