Blood results - advice

Hi all,

I am 15 weeks pregnant and suffered with quite a bit of bleeding last night. Attended the hospital and thankfully my cervix is closed and they were able to find a heartbeat. I am waiting to be scanned.

I received my discharge letter online once I'd arrived home. I've copied the results below. I don't expect to be given medical advice online however it would be useful to know if I need to follow this up. I would hope they'd get in touch if these results are concerning but sadly I have lost faith in the system. Maybe I could try and get a private GP appt today? Thanks

Hi there,

These results are all very narrowly outside of what is called the 'normal range'. This means they will be flagged on the system as abnormal but they are not concerning and the hospital has seen and decided there is no further action to be taken. If you are concerned, I would contact your GP tomorrow to check things over but it certainly doesn't have anything that needs urgently addressing today. Hope everything settles from a bleeding point of view, so scary when that happens but glad all is looking ok.

I can’t give medical advice as such, but since getting pregnant, a lot is slightly out of the norm in my blood tests. I’ve been told that much is just down to pregnancy and the extra strain on the body. Don’t worry too much, but you can always call and ask for a follow-up conversation.

A CRP result of 6 is only just outside of normal (0-5). For reference, my CRP was over 450 when I drove myself to hospital feeling a bit unwell! I hope you feel better soon xx

Thank you! It's hard not to worry when you're already in a heightened state of anxiety. I don't think I'll rest until my scan in a couple of days but everything is as reassuring as it can be at this point I guess!
