i had to be when i had an op. it had no side affects and all fine.

think v v v carefully if you are 'choosing' to do it though - emotions do run rather high after xx

Had mine done about 10 years ago, under GA, as a day patient, was a lot easier then I thought, had a bit od discomfort for a few days after in my shoulder but was told this was normal, something to do with what they do.

Woke up after the op and as soon as I could manage tea and toast, and had been to the loo, off I went home.

No affect on hormones for me, after 6 Dc's I was delighted it was done, sex life improved no end because there was no stressing about getting pg.

I did remarry after it was done, but told Dh no more children, and he was fine [had 1 of his own].

my periods have been heavier but shorter since i was sterilised in dec 01

no effect on hormones, in and out in a day, back to normal after 3

the pain in the shoulder is due to them pumping air in you to move things aside, i believe, so they can do the procedure

and i felt, and still feel liberated by taking that step

i dont think it affects your hormones - but the other part of my op did for me.

hope it goes well xx
