Douglas Heel ‘Be Activated’ for injury rehab (knees in my case)

Went to a physio this week about a recurring knee issue and she used a series of muscle activation techniques pioneered by Douglas Heel. This was all new to me. First worked on my diaphragm, then psoas, then my jaw and back of neck to activate my glutes?! All in relation to my knees. It was incredible. Knees not recovered yet but I did feel immediately some sense of pain relief. Anyone else have experience of this technique and how did you find it helped you recover?

Hi OP I don’t know if you will see this but I had it done two days ago. I found it very uncomfortable/painful at the time but I have just got up in the middle of the night and realised the pain is much less already. I am just massaging trigger points at the moment. Did you keep going with it?

Hey! That’s great news @Lovemybunnies
i completely forgot about writing this message. Yes, I have kept up with the activations, I think they have helped my rehabilitation but this was alongside significantly improving my strength and flexibility so it’s hard to say which aspect helped me the most

That’s really good to know. Glad you are feeling better.
