Is this fibromyalgia?

A few years ago my doctor "diagnosed" me with fibromyalgia-like pain. Not really sure why not actually fibromyalgia! But I wasn't given any advice on how to manage it. I'm constantly dizzy and have a low-level of chronic pain but every few months this ramps up to extremely painful muscles, constant cramping and exhaustion. I have an underactive thyroid (Hashimoto's) which is being treated too. Any advice?

Are you perimenopausal, OP?

Quisisana · 13/07/2024 21:31

Yes

Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion, a lazy one IMO and once labelled there seems a reluctance to question it or investigate further. It's a bit like menopause. Every symptom if you are of menopause age is put down to that.
Were you ever referred to a rheumatologist?

Quisisana · 14/07/2024 12:31

Yes, but the tests were all in the norm.
