Gallbladder infection

Hi, I ended up at A and E last night after excruciating stomach pain and vomiting for hours. I do have diagnosed gallstones but they haven't caused me any issues for ages so I didn't think this was the issue. I was uncontrollably shaking and felt terrible, passed out while they were trying to put the cannula in. Had blood tests and was examined and told I likely have a gallbladder infection. Got sent home.worh pain killers and antibiotics. I feel much better today lain wise but feel a bit rough so do I have an infection or not?? I'm so worried as I've never before passed out in my life, it was a horrendous feeling, I suddenly felt absolutely boiling and dizzy and it was so scary! I'm assuming they drew this conclusion from the blood tests they did? The nurse said I was probably dehydrated badly as I'd been being sick and there was just bile and water coming up at that time. Anyone else had a similar scenario? Obviously I'm going to do as I am told and take the antibiotics.

I had this two years ago.
My poo was bright yellow.
My eyes were yellow.
Gallbladder infection does this.
I was vomiting and in pain.
They gave me endoscopy and removed the gallstones and infected bile.
I was on an IV antibiotics drip for 6 days.
Two weeks later l had my gallbladder removed.
Two weeks after that was rushed in again.. they had left some gallstones in the bile ducts that got infected again. Once again l had yellow poo/ eyes and face.
Another endoscopy to remove the bile duct clips and stones .. clips back in place.. antibiotics IV for 2 weeks.. and this caused liver lesions.
Can't understand if you have infection.. they are not doing more.
I hope it doesn't get worse.
Have you had a CT scan?
Endoscopy into your gallbladder and bile ducts.
Is your eyes/ face/ poo/ wee yellow?
Please keep an eye on yourself and don't be afraid to go back if things get worse.
I went to A& E first time.. and the doctor knew straight away what it was.
Good luck.

I have also had a gallbladder infection and was admitted for IV antibiotics and then went in the waiting list for gall bladder removal. I stopped eating fat as food with higher amounts of fat caused me excruciating pain and vomiting. If you don’t feel better on oral antibiotics you need to go back to A&E.

This is the thing..I'm not sure it is a gallbladder infection and they just assumed it was due to my history of having gallstones. I've not had an attack in almost two years mind.
It started with the nausea and then about three hours after being so sick the abdo pain came but it was more central and gnawing. Started to get dizzy and freezing cold and uncontrollably shanking. Then got boiling and felt faint all the while the sickness had passed but the pain was unreal. They said the bloods showed infection and because my abdomen was tender to touch the hat they think it's my gallbladder. The doctor originally said that if the pain wasn't controlled they would admit me. He then said he doesn't think I have a blockage and the pain lessened so I could come home.
Today, I have a dull ache but nothing major, no more sickness but more of a flu type symptoms of headache aches and pains, lightheadedness etc. no yellowing or anything and I've been unable to go to the toilet since yesterday. So I'm really unsure what's going on.

Presumably the checked your liver function tests, patterns of which can indicate issues with the liver/gallbladder as well as checking your inflammatory matters for infection. Their working diagnosis would be based on this and their clinical assessment of you. Of course though, if in doubt or not improving, seek further help!
