TMJ/Jaw issues

Hi,

I’ve been pushing for an ‘open mouth’ x-ray as I was worried that my jaw was dislocating when it opened - after suffering with TMJ issues for the last 10 years.

The dentist said he was happy with the x-rays and has discharged me from oral surgery. To me it looks clearly not where it should be?

But I’m not sure where to go from here? I would appreciate a second opinion, but not sure how I would even get one? Can I ask for one?

pic is the x-ray of my jaw joint, with my mouth open. Tia xx

Hi. I sympathise. I've struggled with a disclocating jaw for many years and now it's so bad there's no option left for me other than total tmj replacement surgery. My mouth won't open, the bones crumbling away, the bone nerve and muscle pain is horrendous that I can't open my mouth, can't sleep, eat etc.
If you have any serious concerns ask your dentist to refer you to Max Fax. If my dentist had referred me years ago I could have had minor interventions to avoid it getting to the point of no return: Wikes L5.
