Bleeding and foul smell almost two weeks after smear

Hi all,
Had a smear test almost two weeks ago and bled during it. Ever since I’ve had spotting when wiping, sometimes heavier. Not like a period, as when I have them they’re normally very clotty and dark blood. Also feel crampy.

The nurse did mention I had a cervical ectropion and I had the implant installed 2 months ago so not sure if that’s caused the bleeding but seems strange it all started since the smear and has lasted so long.

I’ve also had a foul smell down there ever since. I went to the gp as thought it might be BV as smells fishy (apologies if TMI!) but there has been no discharge and the swabs for that and thrush have came back clear. I shower and within an hour have to change my knickers as they smell foul. 😔

Has anyone experienced this after a smear? I’ve also ordered an STI kit as found out recently now X had been on dating sites. I took a test a few weeks after we were first intimate which came back clear but worried the smell might be caused by an std if he hasn’t been faithful.

Any advice appreciated!

I'm s personally go back to the go as it sounds like some kind of infection

@LizzeyBenett thanks I will do. Annoyingly when I went to see the gp the bleeding had stopped. Soon as I got home it started again 😩 The gp said it’s normal to bleed after smears but almost two weeks seems very long! It only lasted a day at my previous one. I just hope it isn’t an std.

@Beeloux it's actually the smell would worry me more than the bleeding as I just gave birth and one of the things they drilled into me was if the bleeding gets heavier or a foul fishy smell Go back straight away so I'd mention the smell to go and insist on them checking for infection / std
