My poor 20 month old DS is having a terrible time of it. The itchiness during the day isn't so bad as I guess he has lots of distractions but night times for him are horrendous.
We're using Piriton and Eurax but they don't seem to be helping. Is there anything else I can do? He hasn't got to sleep until 3am and 4am the past 2 nights.

Is he getting too hot at night which could be making the itchiness worse?

When my DS had it we did lots of bicarb baths during the day which seemed to help -a good distraction too.

I did wonder that so last night I adjusted his radiator and reduced bedding. I suppose it could be the material of his night clothes too?
Bicarb baths sound a good tip, thank you.
I feel so helpless, last night I was rubbing his tummy and he lay like a puppy it must have felt so good

DS still asleep after 2 hours and he's only wearing a t-shirt, I think that answers that

Calomile(sp) lotion is supposed to be very good.
