I've had this rash in my back since my early 20s, was mostly confined to left shoulder then spread down. I've always been told it was just dermatitis and given various creams that don't do much. It gets itchy and fakes and scabs but also creates darker spots. After a bad flare 2 years ago a more specialist dermatologist said it was Blaschkoid Dermatitis and prescribed diprosalic ointment which didn't do much. I'm not sure if it is linked but inder the shoulder blade is a big lump which aches and I often get massages to break it down (always asked if I've had surgery and told it's like a brick of muscle).
I was wearing a shirt that bunched a bit in the pics so the vertical lines are from the shirt bunching, please ignore!
A few months ago I was diagnosed with very low TSH and was hyperthyroid at the time. I do feel I may have previously swung between hypo and hyperthyroid in my life (am generally dry skinned and don't sweat and hyperthyroid are usually categorised as clammy and pink). I'm now linking the rash and my fairly recent diagnosis (flares at same time) and wondering if there is a specialist somewhere I can go to perhaps get a more niche treatment? Does anyone know of anywhere that might be interested or have a more jn depth knowledge of rashes linked to TSH/pituitary issues?
Many thanks.
