Infected dry socket

Anyone had infected dry socket after a tooth extraction? How long will it take it heal? How do I know it’s healing?

Had tooth pulled on 19th (failed root canal and had a small infection again), went back on 24th, said I had dry socket but wasn’t sure if I had an infection (told them I had an awful taste and throbbing when heart rate increases). I had followed the advice, however the extraction was troublesome as the tooth broke.
They gave me a syringe to irrigate it with salt water and that’s was it. The taste got worse, the swelling didn’t get any better but the pain tapered off. Went back on 27th and she gave me two types of antibiotics and within a few hours the taste was gone, swelling is still there. Anxious it won’t go as I’ve had a lot of antibiotics since having my little girl.

When I had it, it took 2 dentist visits, antibiotics and time to heal. Was about 3 weeks before it felt fully healed. Did they put some dressing in after irrigating it? It smells really strong so you would know if they had used it.

They put some of that aniseed stuff in initially, but now it’s just open and I have antibiotics. I have to rinse with salt water after I eat anything and then use it in the syringe in the socket. I’m worrying myself and googling all sorts, worried about sepsis and it spreading. I can’t taste the foul taste now, so I’m guessing the antibiotics are working, never had a tooth out before or a tooth infection really, hence the panic. The socket has a film over it, dunno if it’s just slough or the stuff that heals it. 🤞🏻 the healing stuff
