Don't think I have had adrenal function checked but I had hormone therapy apart from thyroxine to help me conceive.

Sorry to hijack
Elasticwoman I suffer from hypothyroid and I am interested in what you say.
What was the hormone therapy you had to help you concieve what did that involve.
I have been ttc my 2nd for 8 months with no luck and wondering if its down to the thyroid.
Cycle has also been all over the place not sure if thats down to the thyroid.
However tsh is now normal 0.2.
But I would appreciate if you can give me some insight into the hormone therapy you had do you mean hormone tests.

Lostit - 15 years ago, my hypothyroid condition was diagnosed following a m/c and I was put on Thyroxine. At the same time I had an ultrasound scan which showed I had polycystic ovaries (PCOS). The treatment given was Clomid, a very common hormonal kick start for women in my condition. It is the brand name for a chemical called Clomiphene something or other. 9 months later our first child was conceived. 2 more followed without any more drugs (except the Thyroxine). I am still hypothyroid but the PCOS has gone away.

Okay thanks
I have had a ultrasound recently and the sonographer told me there was no sign of polycystic ovaries.
Can you tell me does being hypothyroid mess around with your cycle making it irregular sometimes going a long time before your next af.
Have you experienced any problem.
I have this problem atm even though tsh is now normal.
Also do feel quite tired on and off and was wondering if being hypothyroid can still cause this even when tsh is normal.

Before my thyroid condition was treated, I had a long cycle and was over tired. Those are both known symptons of it but also common to PCOS.

What's tsh?
