hello!

before I start I posted this on another website and just got people saying ‘lucky you’ ‘I wish I was like that’ and this has really annoyed me because it’s a genuine concern.

Before getting pregnant I was Sitting around the 10st 4 Mark. Then I got pregnanct with my second and by the end of the pregnancy was around 12st 10.

since having him, the weight has dropped off me. I’m now 9st 10. I’m not breastfeeding! Nor am I doing any extra exercise as I have a toddler so getting out in the pram for walks isnt as easy as it was first time around. I’m eating more than I ever have done before! Including both healthy and unhealthy meals/ snacks and wine on a weekend. I have also started going really dizzy, feeling weak, and very very tired! I do also have a few stomach problems (wind and the odd stomach pain)

It Got to the point of my dad thinking I was unwell mentally and a few other people saying ‘omg how do you look like that post birth’ and then seeing pictures of myself to go to the doctors and get checked

I’m awaiting bloods and an ultrasound on my ovaries (I have PCOS). I’m having a full on panic that it may be something serious??

jusr wondering in the meantime if any of you have gone through similar and it all been okay? I’m getting so worried.

I must also add I’m not sure if it’s because my days are starting so early (4-5am) so my metabolism is in overdrive? - might be completely wrong and unsure if there’s any logic behind this ?

It could be your thyroid levels? Hyperthyroidism. My friend had this after giving birth.

Would also say thyroid! I was at a lower weight postpartum than before I was pregnant but I did breastfeed. Think your hormones are just all over the place so could just be that and taking your body a bit of time to get back to normal

As you’re not breastfeeding, you should def have your thyroid checked.

That sounds exactly like me and I was diagnosed with coeliac disease. It might be worth asking the doctor to check for that too. Bring really tired, weak and stomach problems all point to that. It can lie dormant and symptoms only appear after trauma, which childbirth can be. My mum has it so I know what to ask the doctor to test for.
