I am predicted to be on my period for our holiday in August (gutted). I have one period between now and the next one (scheduled for day one of holiday).

Has anyone taken this? Any tips/advice? Should i take now so i dont take on holiday?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago, and ordered some from Superdrug online as my periods are so heavy these days.
It has done the job - I haven't really been consistent about taking it at the same times daily - just generally 'three a day'.
I've still had some mild symptoms and a bit of discharge but I'll take that over a heavy period !
If your period is due day one of your hol maybe consider getting more than seven days - as you need to take it 3/4 days before you're due so with a 7 day course your last pill would be 3/4 days before the end of your hol and your period can come pretty quickly after.
Enjoy your trip!

I used it this year and last and it was fine. I took it on holiday, felt slightly sluggish but nothing worth talking about and much better than trying to deal with a period while swimming with kids. Both times I stopped taking it when I got home and had terrible PMS but then everything was normal again. Would take it again.

If you're very regular you could take it a month in advance but I was happier to just take it on holidays as I felt I'd be less paranoid.

I definitely forgot to take it in the middle of the day a few times and it still worked, but obviously try remember to take it!

I’ve used it a few times and will again this August as have the same problem as you. I’ve never had any side effects and it does what it says on the tin. I wouldn’t bother taking it early, just take it while on holiday (as long as you can trust yourself to remember it 3 times a day!)

I tend to take it to change my cycle for the period due before my holiday.

The medication makes me feel tired and prolongs PMS symptoms for me (makes me really grumpy!) which is easier to deal with before the actual holiday.

I did once take it during a 2 week holiday in Turkey and it started to fail after around a week.

Yes it’s great stuff. If you come on and start taking it it will dry you up, so I don’t think you need to worry about taking it early.

prepare for a heavier period or disrupted periods when you stop taking it but it’s a small price to pay for a period free holiday

Yes. I did last year

It was fine. Period delayed whilst i was away and it didn't upset my cycle

Don't take (or at least research on MN/reddit etc first) if you suspect you have ADHD/ASD/MH issues. I took it last year and the progesterone withdrawal was brutal, I was practically suicidal and bursting into tears several times a day for the following fortnight. If you have ADHD etc it can really upset your neurotransmitter levels and throw your emotions completely out of whack.
