dd (5yrs) been called back to eye hospital after school examination- feel guilty

Hi, my dd has been called back to eye hospital to see orthoptist. I can only assume it is due to some type of squint. If it is I will be kicking myself. I have thought she has had a slight squint since birth but when i asked two diff drs about it (one a ped), i was told it was the wide bridge of her nose making it look like a squint.

i asked the gp and the health visitor to refer dd to eye clinic from when she was 3, both claimed there was nothing worng with her sight because they couldnt physically see anything rong, i then asked my optitician to check her sight and she said no because the dr would have picked up a problem, she got a an eye test at nursery in january and guess what, shes half blind and has now got glasses. It might not be a squint dd's isnt a squint shes short sighted ith a sigmatisim (sp) in one eye and long sighted in the other!

could be that i suppose. I suppose I have to go for third opinion next time.

will just have to wait anf see i guess, it may just be she did not cooperate

It's just a referral, remember. There may not be anything wrong or it could be something new that has developed since the doctors saw her, like astigmatism which can develope over several years.

But if you've asked about it before, theres nothing you could have done more.
My mum asked and asked about my sight, was told there was nothing wrong, until they did the sight tests at school at 11, and found I couldn't see any letters on the chart at all with my left eye.
