Eye ointment

Hi,

I have what looks like blepharitis (swollen, sore eyelid) on my right eye. Felt it coming on Friday and woke up Saturday looking like Rocky!

I have a really important meeting on Monday and I work away from home a couple of days a week.

I called to see a pharmacist at the local pharmacy yesterday who gave me chloramphenicol eye ointment. I've never had it in the ointment form but it's driving me mental. Can't stand the feel of it in my eye and it's a gooey mess! Has petroleum jelly in. It doesn't appear to me making any difference, as yet, and I can't get to a GP until, at least, Wednesday.

Is there anything I can do? Shall I try to get the eye drops version?

Cold compress, as you do for a bump.

I recommend Brolene eye drops

I've just had this and it's awful. Warm
compress 4x per day and if it gets infected, oral antibiotics

My GP recommended a warm solution of Johnson's baby shampoo in an eye bath. Doesn't sting and after a few days it had cleared up.
