Is this perimenopause or grief?

I will be 40 this year. DF died a few months ago. Needless to say I have been feeling horrific. Lots of ups and downs in mood, increased anxiety, bouts of depression, very sad etc. In talking therapy.
I stopped the pill around the same time because I just can't tolerate it. Since then I have noticed my PMS symptoms are awful, very close to what NHS website describes for PMDD, including mood out of control, binge eating and severe headaches.

It made me wonder if this could be perimenopause or simply triggered by grief. Periods and ovulation are still very regular. I sometimes feel slightly warm at night but nothing obvious like hot flashes or any other symptoms.
Anyone with similar experience? And advice would be much appreciated.

I'd say unlikely to be peri as you're still regular. Probably coming off the pill (as it can stabilise moods) and grief.

It's good that you're in therapy and could you try the coil instead?
