For 3 years now, if I catch a common cold, it will turn into sinusitis within 2 days.
It is agony. My face kills, I can't open my eyes, and I have pain in my teeth. It brings me to tears every single time. I dread catching a simple cold. I've avoided blowing my nose as that can cause it, and still, it happens.
I'm not sure what is causing it. It isn't always an infection ( mucus can be completely clear). I have to take sudafed with a specific ingredient to relieve the symptoms. Is this something my gp can investigate? Is there an issue with my nose, perhaps? Polyps, deviated septum. Does anyone else suffer with this?
I drive for a living, so when this happens, I'm having to take time off work as it's not safe for me to drive. I'm feeling more guilty now as I'm 6 months pregnant, and I'm not a huge fan of taking medication during pregnancy. I plan on breastfeeding also but worried in case this happens again, and I have to take this medication. It says it's completely safe in pregnancy unless you have high blood pressure, which I dont, but still, mum guilt is creeping up. But I have no other options. It's agony.
