I cant cough without piddling, no WAY i could jump on a trampoline without either wetting myself or feeling like its all going to fall out, also constipated when im due for my period. Have asked for refferal with incontinence nurse, doc said ok will refer but didnt have time to ask about anything else as i was late for my appointment so she said i would have to talk about it another time. Bit worried TBH

Hi Lucyellensmum - I have just had all my down below fixed - I had a tape put in to support the neck of my bladder and had an episiotomy repair also whilst having the tape put in - my surgeon was wonderful and the piddling all the time had stopped.

I had to have a Eurdynamics test first where they put a catheter in and pump your bladder full of water and make you laugh, run on the spot and do star jumps and cough and run a tap to see if anything leaks - then they make you empty your bladder and check if everything they put in - minus the dribbles whilst running etc. comes out.

Went into a private hospital in London as I had chosen the surgeon to do the operation and that is where he worked from - was in for 2 nights and now after 2.5 weeks I feel ok - everything down there still a little tender and I can't pick anything heavy - or DS - up for another couple of months - oh and I would have to have a c section if I had anymore kids but it definately has been worth it - not tried to have sex yet but the surgeon reckons DH will be blowpleasantly surprised, as will I - lets hope so!!

lucyellensmum · 08/04/2008 13:01

i couldn't afford to go private - does that mean i am going to have to succomb to the NHS and a bit of gaffer tape?

lulumama · 08/04/2008 13:03

do you do pelvic floor excercises?

deegward · 08/04/2008 13:05

I had this donewhen I was having a hyster 2 years ago, sex great since!!

lucyellensmum · 08/04/2008 13:05

I try but to be honest i don't feel as if i have enough "integrity"? is that the right word, down there for it to make any difference, i try to pull up, so to speak and it doesnt feel like anything happens. Although DP does report a pleasant squeezing sensation when i do it during sex (sorry TMI).

you need to keep doing them, they really do help. also, ask for an NHS referral, it might take a while to come through ,but you could see a physio and get more advice on excercises to do.

Twinkie1 · 08/04/2008 13:53

His name is Mr Patwardhen - he works out of the Private Hospital next to Blackheath Station - he is wonderful and you can get referred to him on the NHS too - he works out of Queen Elizabeth in Woolwich when working for the NHS.

If you CAT me I will give you his number - tell him he mad woman from Kelvedon told you to get in touch!

I haven't tried out the sex ting yet - everything is far too sore down there at the moment!

Deegward - was it the tape thing that made the difference during sex? Have had everything tightened up down there too - scars cut open and restitched to give me the noonie of a 17 year old virgin!

lucyellensmum · 08/04/2008 14:18

oh twinkle, i want a noonie like that

I was wondering if I have the same thing too LEsmum. I was dancing at my Jazz class the other day and we had to jump up and down on the spot and I started to leak . I was so embarrassed..think I may have leaked a little before at some point in the past...Is this a sympton of a prolapsed womb?? or a prolapsed bladder??..I too want a noonie like yours Twinkie. Did you have a polapsed bladder then Twinkie?..sorry if this is hijacking but think I am the same as the OP and Twinkie..and want "Fixed" up down there as well

Twinkie1 · 08/04/2008 15:11

Not sure if I had a prolapsed bladder - I suppose I did if he has put in a tape to support the neck of it - it is really good - as I said 2.5 weeks ago I had it done - haven't gone back to work yet because I work in the City and with the episiotomy repair walking too far is a nightmare but I am planning on working half days next week - although I only do 3 days!

Only thing that bothered me is that they have to hyperextend your legs so basically bend you in half - think they sort of hang your legs over your head from the ceiling! Just keep thinking what a sight it must have looked! And it made walking afterwards a nightmare because your legs sort of don't work properly and hips are very sore - but as I said 2.5 weeks later and I am getting there!

It has also helped hugely with constipation - I used to go about once a week and was always sore aferwards - it is all to do with when you strain the wall of bowl sort of pops into the vagina so you aren't straining downwards properly - I have been every day since the op although at first you have to take lactulose to make sure poo is soft!

The guy at Blackheath does BUPA but he will also do NHS if you can get referred to him - my aunt needs it done and he said it is about £4k but it is available in the NHS and if you ring him he will try and get you done at his hospital as he is a teacher of the procedure!

Twinkie1 · 08/04/2008 15:12

Mnd you haven't had sex yet - will have to do it when not too sore and tell you if DH thought the 17 year old virgin comment was correct!

cositjustisok · 08/04/2008 15:21

Thanks for that Twinkie1...imagining what I would look like if they hyperextended me ...ooh the sight would be funny I assume. Glad you are getting back to full health..I have no problem with constipation, just the bladder and my bits too inside (my noonie) feels funny all lumpy and bumpy if you see what I mean. Why did the Doctor put you forward for the operation?..jsut trying to understand what your problem was ....as a few things got fixed at once..ie bladder, bowel and a new noonie ...sorry for all the questions, hope this helps you too LEsmum

Twinkie1 · 08/04/2008 15:27

I went to that particular guy as my next door neighbour had some ovarian cysts removed by him and she had mentioned that when we go to the gym I have to wear a Tenna Lady - she thinks this is hilarious as she is only young and has no kids! He said to her - that's silly get her to come and see me an I will fix her up.

Anyway went to doctor with this guys name told him I dribble all the time and is real bad when I run and he wrote the guy a letter and then I went the next week to see him, had urodynamics test and internal scan done the next week and 2 weeks later had op done.

He gave me an internal once and said now tense your pelvic floor - so I did - he then said dear can you tense your pelvic floor - by which time I had turned purple with the effort of tensing said pelvic floor which just wasn't doing anything!

So worst symptoms were the dribbling - and then he mentioned constipation and my wobbly noonie - it was bad though at pilates they used to say pull and curl - meaning your pelvic floor and tail bone and mine just wouldn't co operate then I suddenly knew why - am too scared to give it a go now - well until I see him on Friday.

cositjustisok · 08/04/2008 15:53

Thankyou so much for that Twinkie1...I so understand everything now...I have no pelvic floor at all either and with the dribbling and my funny weird feeling noonie I do believe I need "Fixing". Good thing is I have an appointment for womb troubles..heavy periods spotting etc etc on Monday so may get something sorted with the consultant there..now I know what is possible I too may end up with a designer vagina!!!!!..cant thankyou enough and sorry for hijacking LEsmum..will let you all know how I get on.

lucyellensmum · 08/04/2008 22:05

i dont mind the hijack at all, lots of interesting info there, and the thought that i will be possibly getting a designer vagina is making me

I need to speak to you about this as I have a fairly serious (uterine)prolapse and its my specialist subject. I'm a bit pissed at the mo, but will be sensible tomorrow and will be back with info then.

KatyMac · 08/04/2008 22:10

Twinkle - you and me both dear

I had a TVT 4 (I think) yrs go

Sex is fine but I havn't noticed any difference - so I don't think it's the tape

My consultant asked me to do star jumps....I said are you sure and stood up...suddenly there was a pool of water on the floor.....she said never mind don't bother jumping
