Prolapsed disc - trampolines - future pregnancy?

maisemor · 08/04/2008 11:59

I had surgery for a prolapsed disc, about 6 months ago now.

I went to physio, did all the exercises, and the surgeon was very pleased with my progress.

However I forgot (due to a lot of pain pill popping) to ask both the physio and the surgeon if they would advise against any future pregnancies and the use of a trampoline, and I am therefore hoping that any of you wise ladies will be able to answer these questions?

Why a trampoline?

Because the upstairs neighbour has just put a trampoline in the backgarden (shared) and I am dying to have a go, but not sure it would be wise .

I'd give the trampoline a miss!!Pregnancies..I think you'll have to ask the experts. Your OP made me smile though!

I had my op for a prolapsed disc seven years ago. I had my DD two years ago. I had no trouble through the pregnancy but I had a c section on medical advice. They thought it would be safer than risking problems during the pushing stage of labour.

I would ask your doctor but i'm sure it will be okay as long as you give your back time to heal.
