Health anxiety sufferer- should I go to GP or wait ?

I suffer chronic anxiety with my health and seeking professional help to help me with it.
I recently got back from a trip where I took an old razor by accident and shaved with that for a week. Day I returned home I felt a soreness around my armpit that you can get over shaving too dry or a blunt razor etc
Anyway I felt like a tiny sore bump which wasn't visible. A close friend has a look who used to be a nurse years ago and said it sounds like a blind spot with no head possible from shaving.
Use Sudo cream for a few nights to draw it out and see.
Well I've been trying that but nothing.
Soreness seems to be fine now and gone.
The below isn't the best picture I'm just wondering if anyone can see anything ?
Please ignore dark patches I did have a fight with the tan bottle. lol

I'm just struggling to not see a gp straight away after the knowing I've got health anxiety. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou x

Give it a week. It’ll heal and go back to normal. If it isn’t painful and you don’t feel unwell I wouldn’t waste the GPs time about your armpit texture.

It’s an ingrown hair. No need to see a GP whatsoever

Wait this one out for it to heal by itself would be my advice, at least a fortnight. And stop checking / touching if you can!
All the best getting help for your HA.

What advice does the professional who’s helping you with your anxiety advise you to do in situations like this?

cushionstar · 14/06/2024 17:28

@stressedespresso I thought so too. The pain has gone now and I didn't go to the docs.

I am
Getting counselling but it's just started so it's hard tp say how they can help with my health anxiety
