Hysterectomy Pre Op

Hoping for advice please.

I'm due to have a hysterectomy due to large fibroids. I had my pre op recently and was informed my assessment would be valid for 3 months but possibly wouldn't be given a date for the op before that time elapses and I'd have to have the assessment again.

Just from anyone out there who's been in a similar position to me - is it likely I'll have to re attend the pre op? Also, would I be informed if there was anything they were concerned about with the bloods/ecg I had whilst there?

Sorry if I sound a bit vague, I've been on an infamous waiting list for nearly 2 years and, maybe naively, thought I'd be given a date within the next few weeks or so...

I've never had an op bar a caesarean 21 years ago and am just feeling a bit unsure of what'll happen next. Thanks for reading, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the north west of England.

I can't answer to the first part. But I was told about my bloods, ecg etc. I failed mine because I had a high heart rate which was deemed to be my health anxiety and was treated with beta blockers. After a short amount of time I was back and assessed to be fit. But my operation was already booked for a couple of days later. This was some years ago. But I think the results of tests you will be informed of.

I've had a few pre OP's and only once was I outside the 12 week time limit and did have to go back for another assessment, although, if I remember correctly it was only weight and blood pressure I don't recall having bloods re done.

Bloods I'd imagine you'd be informed about if there was anything wrong, but I've never been told there and then.
ECG nurse normally says if alls fine.

Hopefully you'll be given a date soon, good luck and do rest up after even if you (think) you feel fine you need to heal on the inside.

I had mine in November after being on the list for nearly 2 years.
It was on the second last day of the 3 month pre op rule! I did call up the wait list number at about week 8 as I was feeling worried - was warned it might be over 3 months on the call and I'd need a new pre op but my appointment came through within a week of my call.
Best wishes - it was truly life changing for me. I still do think about it fairly frequently on how well it turned out!
