... I have a chest infection so after 10 days of being brave and muttering about "a bit of a virus", I am open for sympathy which I will accept with good grace and a slightly wan smile.

Sympathy.

Swedes · 07/04/2008 20:43

Huge sympathy. Get well soon.

Kew good grace and slightly wan smile.

MehgaLegs · 07/04/2008 20:43

Oh you poor thing, that sounds rough. Hope you are able to rest, keep warm and drink lot's of soothing toddies.

winebeforepearls · 07/04/2008 20:44

poor love

are you sat sitting in a comfy chair, feet up, mindless TV on?

have you taken your antibiotics??

I would suggest brandy also.

Kewcumber · 07/04/2008 20:48

taken antibiotics - tick
not sitting down with brnady as DS is crying and won;t go off to sleep - have a horrible feeling he;s coming down with what I've got.

Call in favours or accept all offers of help, gracefully.

How is DS? If he's no better tomorrow, have him checked over - it's extra worry work wondering if they have the dreaded lurgy, too.

Hope you get a decent night's sleep - it makes such a difference. The brandy option sounds good, too. A little bit of TLC always helps. I had my Mum here, last time I was ill, and having someone to make me a cup of tea was just heavenly - the small things, heh?

If you are on amoxicillin and it seems not to be working, go back pdq and ask for something nastier.
The strain that went round our part of London appears to have responded only to erythromycin.
Hope you feel better soon, the one we had was a horror.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/04/2008 22:08

Kewcumber the current lurgy round here is horrid so I feel for you.

Make sure that you drink plenty of fluids, take paracetamol/brufen if you can, and coddle yourself, DS permitting

JackieNo · 07/04/2008 22:10

Poor you Kew. Haven't seen you around for ages - how are things otherwise?

TigerFeet · 07/04/2008 22:19

awww Kew

last time I had something of this order the amoxycillin was up there with the chocolate teapots. Deffo go back after a couple of days if you're no better.

Hope ds escapes.

[clap on shoulder]

Kewcumber · 08/04/2008 10:28

Well have taken 2 Ab's last night and I'm still not better , on the plus side DS seems to be OK if a little subdued. I think he's a bit freaked that I'm been so ill and lying in bed so much. Poor lamb

Off work again today as AB's have not provided a miracle cure overnight.

Hellooo bigmofo's. I haven't been posting much - no energy and just feel too unwell. Fingers crossed that amoxicillin does teh tirck in the next day or two.

coppertop · 08/04/2008 10:31

MrsJohnCusack · 08/04/2008 10:50

LilRedWG · 08/04/2008 12:06
