I am due to have a grade 4 hemorrhoidectomy and large anal skin tagr removed, I was wondering what peoples experience was in terms of recovery my surgeon says I should be able to run 10k again after a couple of weeks, is this true, I have read it is a painful and recovery takes a lot longer

No idea, I'm awaiting a date for mine (not a clue what grade it is) in the next few months though.

I'm really getting worried - I'm reading a lot of people who say they wish they hadn't gone through with the surgery as the pain was so bad and it outweighed the benefits for them...

I'd be very happy to hear from anyone about their recovery as well - such as did you manage to get out of bed alone in the first few days? My DH may be at sea for several months when this happens - do I need someone to take the dog for a few days or get someone to basically assist me with nursing care or anything?!

How bad is pooping the first week? What worked best for you? Do I need to invest in a sitz bath for the toilet as I have no bath?

If you search, there was a fairly long running thread with a conversation between people recovering from this surgery. I recall it because it made my mind up that I'd not have it Shock
