Hands and wrists numb and seizing up

I'm a self-employed translator working on teh computer all day every day. I have been working most days since early February including most weekends (yeay! and boo!) My hands and wrists have starting seizing up, with numbness running up my forearms.

I reckon I am developing some kind of RSI/ carpal tunnel type thing. Does anybody have any ideas of exercises/ therapies/ treatments that might work? I can't take more than a day or so off work until the end of the month (I'm committed to a series of documents until then)

Any ideas for me before I lose the use of my hands entirely and have to rely on trained monkeys to put the kettle on? Please...

Sounds like carpal tunnel to me but it's best to get checked out at the drs though.

I had to wear wrist splints for a while when I suffered during pregnancy and afterwards. Made typing quite difficult but did the trick.

I wear wrist splints at night and that seems to do the trick for the daytime. If my hands are not active that is when the pain/numbness/tingling starts. I even wore them on a long haul flight last week, as I knew that I would suffer.

I have been wearing them for about 4 weeks and it is a lot better.
