I'm just about to take out private medical insurance.
Literally in the past week I've been referred for a Fit test and CA125 The fit test is raised and I will probably need a colonoscopy (which I would imagine happening in NHS), yet to receive other results.
What are the ins and outs of declaring this?
Would it count as a pre-existing condition If something was wrong?
There is a deferment period of 14 days - does this mean any treatment under private would have to be delayed - would they even pay out?
Bit confused how all of this would work.....
I am an otherwise fit and healthy 48 Yr old.

Yes, it will count as a pre-existing condition and under most policies coverage for anything relating to this condition will be excluded for a number of years
