Unbearable pain

I know unbearable sounds dramatic and it probably is but fuccccck!!
I've been taking antibiotics since Tuesday,
along with Pandole, a throat spray, salt water and cough sweets. I've also tonight taken a sleeping pill.. 4 hours ago and it hasn't worked. Every time I sneeze or swallow it feels like I'm being stabbed in the throat!
Doctor said Tonsillitis and gave me the antibiotics, all I can eat is soup and Icepoles.. I actually feel worse now than I did on Tuesday, any advice would be great on speeding up the recovery!!

Oh bless you, sounds awful. For pain you can get co codamol 8/500mg over the counter and you can take that alternately with ibrupofen. Have you looked inside your mouth? It may be worth going back if there’s and ruling out quinsy

Veteran of tonsillitis (I think I've had it about 30 times now...) had it last month with a 40c temp and felt shocking

More liquids than you think needed. I basically have constant drinks, the worst is always first thing in the morning for me
Try warm drinks, I find them better than cold. Tea, herbal tea (there's a few throat relief ones), hot chocolate, bouillon, anything. Wouldn't go for anything acid like lemon and honey or tomato soup

When I can face it I then start with ready salted crisps because the salt helps and the crisps scrape the crap off. Read it somewhere on here years ago!

Painkillers - alternate. If you can take it then gargle with soluble cocodamol then swallow it

If it doesn't improve then go back. I had two days of antibiotics then remembered like an idiot that penicillin didn't work last time. Went back and given clarithromycin and I was feeling better within 24hrs of those

Paramol is an effective painkiller if you can take a tablet.
