Tonsillitis? Photo attached!

I woke with a sore throat over the weekend, it was only on one side. Fast forward to today and it's getting worse. It's now both sides and I have earache on one side. No fever but my throat feels so sore and swollen it's difficult and painful to swallow. It's also uncomfortable to speak. My glands (on the side with earache) are tender to touch and my tonsils are red and inflammed (no pus).

Is this tonsilitis? If so, I know it tends to clear on its on but it's been 4/5 days now. At what point do I go to the pharmacist/doctor? I've been taking ibuprofen and paracetamol but after 3hrs it's killing again.

Anyone?

I had this a few weeks ago. I needed antibiotics but I had white spots all over mine. If yours are just red and inflamed it could be viral tonsilitis which won't require antibiotics. I coped by alternating paracetamol and Ibuprofen along with ice pops and difflam spray.

Thank you! I'll pick up some difflam today 👍 I got a fright this morning when I could barely swallow or speak. It's making me feel sick too. Painkillers and anti-inflammatories have definitely helped though.
