Hi , has anyone got ridges in their big toe nails , I noticed it a while ago and I’ve been moisturising them There is a deep ridge in the base of one of my big toe nails
should I be worried ?

Across the nail? I have yep. I'll add a pic but it doesn't quite show how 'deep' the ridge is. If I run my finger across it it feels like steps almost. I've been told it's likely related to my last bout of covid (in December).

Oh really , I’ve had Covid twice , do you buff the nails , I’m just wondering if I should see a podiatrist?

Hadn't realised the pic didn't load, apologies.

I haven't really done anything to it tbh. I've got long covid now and everything is a chore. If it's still like that when I've recovered a bit more il think about seeing a podiatrist but it's definitely growing out slowly.

Hopefully pic added. Have made it a sensitive image because not everyone will want to see my manky trotters!

If you've ever stubbed your big toe to the extent that it bruises and a new nail grows underneath your damaged nail, the damaged nail of which eventually lifts off, then you can get ridges. I have them all the time but hardly noticeable with nail polish on.
