Bowel wall thickening

Can anyone offer any advice? My Mum had a CT done for something different and on this they found incidentally that she has thickening of her bowel wall and they've referred her for colonoscopy. She has done a FIT in the last month or so which was normal. If the FIT was normal is this a good sign or is bowel wall thickening worrying even with a negative FIT?

I'm not a doc, but bowel wall thickening can be caused by several different conditions, only one of which is cancer. That being said, there can be false negatives (and false positives) on an FIT. Does she have any symptoms?

That sounds encouraging to me @monicagellerbing . They'll find out what it is and administer whatever treatment may be required. I hope it's nothing alarming and that it will be easily dealt with.

Sending best wishes.
