Hi all.
I saw my dentist today in my hometown - I haven’t changed since moving several hours away as I’ve a phobia of going and I like mine.
No decay seen but a routine X-ray had a shadow which prompted her to re-examine the affected tooth. She was happy there was no decay and I left relieved that I wouldn’t need to go for another year.
I am now on my way home but have just received a call from my dentist’s receptionist asking me to go back for another X-ray - to look at the roots, I am sure I was told. I had a panic and asked if this was in case I needed treatment but the receptionist said that my dentist said it was for “clinical reasons”. Whatever this means.
My questions are: should I be worried? Should I not put the follow up X-ray off and go back ASAP? Or is this something that’s done sometimes - like taking an X-ray for records?
I plan to call in the morning to hopefully speak to my dentist if she has the time. But I’ll worry about it all night as I really do hate going to the dentist and worry about my teeth.
Thank you.
