I am planning to get an electronic device for pelvic floor exercises.I have just read that they shouldn't be used if you have an abnormal smear test as there may kick start abnormal cells to multiply.Would this put you off using one if you had normal a result or would you only think of the advantages of using one.Thank you.

The faff of having to take the time out to insert, use, remove and clean would put me off tbh. I imagine it would soon be in a drawer getting no use.
Setting the NHS squeezy app on your phone to give you reminders to do 4x a day is very effective, and you can then do them anywhere.

Do you know if your pelvic floor is under or overactive? Mine is the latter and my Physio told me the electronic stimulators are likely to make things worse.

Another vote for the Squeezy App - it's great and has definitely made a difference to me.

Waiting to see specialist.Have a prolapse.Does that means it is under active? How many times do you squeeze the muscles on the Squeeze app?

Underactive is when the muscles are lax and it is hard to tense them, overactive is when the muscles do not relax when they are meant to.

I was told I needed to learn to relax mine before doing kegals. With a Prolapse there is often difficulty relaxing the muscles as your body compensates for the Prolapse by making things tense.

I found this Dr Bri video really helpful in learning to relax mine and it has also helped lesson the Prolapse symptoms. The first video is free without signing up for the lift programme
