I need help

Struggling massively.
Long history of bowel issues. Mum has Crohn's.
This latest bout of 25plus explosive diarrhoea I've had for over a week, immodium and now codeine, mebeverine is not helping, waiting stool samples. Went again today and saw a useless physicians associate. I feel extremely weak and lightheaded this evening. Dropping weight massively. Awaiting stool to show if IBD

I can not go on anymore like this. It's doing me in and I don't know what else I can do.

Are you passing blood in your poo?
My (adult) DS2 was as you describe, and with lots of blood in his poo but was repeatedly dismissed as it being 'just IBS' . Eventually my Dd1, who is actually a doctor, told us to do a poo diary and then went with him to his GP (he has autism too and needs support) and said 'he needs a colonoscopy!'
He had one two weeks later, was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis there and then, and on meds by the next day.

The poo sample should show up any blood, which will red flag you for a colonoscopy. Keep ringing the docs and ask for a real doctor not a useless PA (don't get me started on those... they are a disgrace)

I really hope you can get help soon, it's awful.

Very sorry to hear all this, OP. Hope you get care very soon.

In the meantime, please be careful to stay hydrated. Maybe try a nutritional supplement as well.

Dehydration will be making you feel terrible in addition to the rest. If you're not already taking diarolyte several times a day - start immediately.

And eat something - anything - every day. Little & often. Take it from me, you'll feel much worse once you stop.

Also, dehydration leads to further diarrhoea so you'll be in a cycle right now. Likewise, loss of appetite - the worse you feel, the less you'll want to eat, but you'll deteriorate quicker.

I know how wretched it is - 🫂

Avoid ibuprofen & aspirin.

Peppermint tea can help with pain too - granted it won't touch it like proper painkillers but you need to layer up things to help.

This morning GP called
Calprotectin levels very high which is likely IBD/crohns.
Waiting for Hospital to call me

I feel very emotional but also relived in a weird way

Thank you everyone
