Low blood sugar and panic attacks

From time to tiem I get low blood sugar 'attacks' which is fine but when I feel them coming on I now get a panic attack. The low blood sugar leaves me dizzy and shaky and then I panic that I am going to pass out on my own at home with the kids etc etc. Obviously a balance diet means no low blood sugar but there are soem sleep deprived days when that all goes to pot. Anyone else suffered anything similar ?

I used to get low blood sugar and feel dizzy.
I make sure I eat protein every two or three hours-and this helps. If I'm out and about I carry a bag of brazil nuts and nibble on those to stop my blood sugar from dipping too low.

My anxiety is always worse if I do not eat well or if I eat bread, rice or potatoes out of proportion to other foods. I don't eat sweet things generally but they too can effect it as you initially get a peek and then a trough lower than before. It is worth checking out info on the GI diet have found it really helpful.
