odd things happening in my 8 month old's mouth

has some teeth poking out aleady - bottom two and top two and third bottom 2nd incisor but...

1. big!! purple/black bump where top 2nd incisor tooth should be coming out??

2. always seems to have lower jaw juxtapositioned in front of upper jaw...is this temporary?

3. also places lower jaw slightly at an angle a lot so top and bottom incisors don't coincide?

any comments much appreciated as owrried and hv has been of no help as usual

The purple and black bump can happen before a tooth erupts.

My DD does strange things with her jaws when teething, I think its to ease the pain!!

cant help with number 2 and 3, but i do remeber taking my ds to teh docs with number 1, it looked just like someone had drew onhis gum in a black/blue marker pen, doc sent me the dentist and they said its just his tooth making its way through

The erupting tooth can cause bleeding under the gum which is like a bruise. I would be almost certain he is holding his jaws in a funny way to stop pressing on the sore bit, I'm sure your dentist would be happy to talk to you if you are concerned ( i work for a dentist).

thank you so much - yes blue lump is pretty big and on outside of gum - looks like a blood blister to be honest

lets hope underbite is temporary!!
