Shingles.. in my head?

So for a week I have had a really bizarre specific pain on my head, an inch or so behind my ear. I couldn't work out what the cause was- it didn't seem to hurt to touch (just ached anyway). It's now sensitive down my neck, and over on the top of my ear on that side. Nothing on the other side.

A few days ago I noticed some spots in the area, but assumed it was just follicles. There's probably about 6 (but hard to tell as all covered by very thick hair!) and now I'm putting 2 and 2 together and wondering if this is a weird presentation of shingles?! Now I think of it, 'burning' as people describe shingles is probably the best descriptor.

Will go to the pharmacist tomorrow to get it checked, but has anyone ever had shingles which was just in their head?!

My mum got it around her eye and up in her hair. Burning sounds a good description. Get out checked out. You will need anti- virals.
Hope it's not too bad

My dd had it across her forehead, across one eye and over the top of her head.
it was awful for her.

Yes. You definitely can get shingles only on your head. Please get it checked by a doctor or pharmacist, especially if it is near your eye or your ear.

Seek a medical opinion because it is very serious if it affects your eyes

There was thread on here a few months ago from someone who got it on their head and ear, I would get it checked
