I am early 40s and I used to be like clockwork with my periods - every 28/29/30 days. A few years ago there were some cycles that were 34/35/36 days but that was down to stress. It corrected itself over time. Last year was all regular.
I was hit with a load of bullshit from other people in January of this year. My periods came two weeks early. It was so odd. That never happened before. Yet a week to two weeks before that there were two weeks where is didn't sleep or eat. It was awful. Can stress do that? I knew stress can delay periods but to bring it on early by two weeks?
I didn't know what February was going to be like. Will it go back to 28/29/30 day cycle. By the middle of March there was still no periods. It came on the 17th of March and it was 6 weeks. That never happened to me before.
Then in April I didn't know if it was going to go back to the 28/29/30 days. But it was 5 and and half weeks cycle.
Here I am now on the 24th of May and I do not know of it's going to be this week or next week or another week or not at all.
I chatted to my GP in March and she diagnosed PCOS and not peri. I find that odd. I never had PCOS before. I likely would have had some symptoms of PCOS but the periods always behaved for me.
Any idea?
Maybe the only thing I can possibly think of is I am likely depressed. I used to take regular supplements but then I stopped. I wonder would it be that? I googled vitamin D and period cycles and this came up.
I vaguely know that GPs can prescribe a high dose of vitamin D to be taken once a week or a month but I am not familiar with it. Would there be a high dose available over the counter to be taken once a week maybe?
