Hello
I'm not one to usually post here but I'm loosing my sanity.

It's a long one but I'll try be brief.

Sunday 5th May (evening time) went to bed and got sharp severe pain in my upper right quadrant under right breast and round in to my back
Tried to carry on for a few days but felt nausea, light headed, HR beating fast not eating or drinking properly.
Came to doctors on 8th May saw a doctor who said it potentially could be my gallbladder and to do some bloods (urine dip was fine)
Give me a form as I work at the hospital to get bloods but couldn’t get in so had booked an appointment for the Friday.
Really struggled over the Wednesday night feeling hot, sick, and the pain especially the sharp pains.
Got up on the 9th to start getting ready but felt really unwell so went to a n e for 7am.
I saw numerous doctors who all said possible gallbladder
They did a urine dip and that was ok little bit of protien but nothing much else (I’m prone to UTIs and this didn’t feel like that or the kidney infection I had.
Anyway saw a surgeon in a n e after sitting there for 13 hours. Who suggested an ultrasound
I was admitted to surgical ward and ended up with a 6 day stay. The consultant came to see me on the Friday morning was much help but I did go for an ultrasound.
They give me morphine to help the pain. I was also severely dehydrated.
Saturday I had an ultra sound of my gallbladder when I asked the lady who did it if their was anything there she said she couldn’t see gallstones but that I had some sludge and debris in my gallbladder
Anyway when this report was done she made NO mention of what she had said to me. Just that she couldn't get clear pics as o had gas.
I ended up staying in hospital for 6 days on iv paracetamol, pain killers and antibiotics. I hadn't eaten since the weds at this point was spiking temps and couldn't keep anything down properly. I had a ct scan which was also said to be ok.
They re did my bloods and showed slight infection markers.
I was discharged on the 14th May and have been home since they said cos they couldn't find anything they put it down to muscular pain. however ended back up in hospital on Monday just gone. Again they just did bloods and urine dip. Said all ok and sent me home.
And that they will call me in out patients for ultrasound and MRI.

Tonight I have been in agony (they've never gone away really but these pains are severe and shooting in the same place) I don't have a high fat diet I cut all that out due to another medical issue. Still not eating properly, having mainly ice lollies and still feeling hot and sick.

I've been in bed in tears for ages not wanting to go back to hospital and waste time for them to send me away but I'm crawling the floor.

My question is has anyone ever been dismissed with gallbladder issues but turns out it actually is?
I really don't know what else to do. Sorry for the long post x

Not been dismissed, but what you described sounds exactly like a gallbladder attack from my experience.
I wonder, especially if they couldn't get a proper look, whether there in a stone stuck in the bile ducts!

Thank you. I'm all out of ideas but just in so much pain it's awful 😭 I've had the morphine tonight they discharged me with but that's not even cutting it x

I had gallbladder attacks for a few years before I went to the GP as they were increasing.
I was referred for a scan where I was told there was one stone in the gallbladder. However, I was not referred to a Consultant until I attended A&E a couple of years later due to 24 hours of pain. I saw the consultant 3 months later and had my op 10 months later. Apparently there were no stones in the removed gallbladder!

Yep. August 2022 I had a sudden severe pain in my stomach and chest, the pain was horrific, I was 3 months pp at this time. I thought I was having a heart attack. I drove myself to A and E in panic and hyperventilated and passed out at the reception because I was sure I was dying. They did loads of tests and said I had a panic attack. I've long suffered from anxiety and I have panic disorder so I KNEW this was not panic. It was PAIN. I was sent home with no help. I went back in the September after having these attacks three to four times a week. They still said they couldn't find anything. I went to me GP and she immediately said she thought it was my gallbladder. Scheduled ultrasounds and bloods and low and behold I had a few stones.. but I was fuming because it was missed on several occasions, the possibility of it was never even mentioned at the hospital. In my case I still have my gallbladder, I very rarely get attacks anymore even though they confirmed.o.fo have stones. They must have passed through or something because I'm 18 months with no severe pain.. in your case of you have fevers and pains and raised infection levels in your blood I cannot see why they would send you home repeatedly. You could have a stone stuck somewhere and blocking your ducts which is a complications. They can't always be seen with CT and ultrasound. There is another test they can use to find it. I would keep going back and be very consistent.

I'm
A couple of months post gall bladder surgery. You should ask first more years if possible- ercp/MRI. They need to get to the bottom of this. Pack a good book, your phone charger and a blanket and head back to a&e.
Don't delay.
