B12 injections - is this a high frequency?

I've recently had bloods and Dr discovered pernicious anemia. So far unsure of cause, more bloods for endochrine coming next week and a thyroid scan etc as also discovered hyperthyroidism.

I've been booked in for B12 injections, which is great, but I have 6 - 1 every other day of next week and into the next - is this normal? I assume it's safe or the surgery wouldn't have put them in so close together but I was under the impression you had one a week or every couple of weeks max? Do I assume I have a very low level and they want to beef it up ASAP?

When I have them it's usually 10 injections over 2 weeks so I think you'll be ok.

Yes that's normal and is how I started on them. After that initial 6, I now have one every three months. Hope they help you.

Yes this is normal. Called loading

Amazing! Thank you all so much!
It's been very weird with the thyroid making me so energetic and the B12 clouting me the next minute and hunger then nausea. Hopeful things will start to go back to normal.

Yes it’s called a loading dose. After the first 6 / two weeks, you will move to three monthly.
