Pelvic exam during TOM?

Hi ladies

came on period just now and I have doctors in an hour to check for possible prolapse after having DD 7 months ago.

would you cancel or do you think it’s still ok to attend? I would call and ask but I’m in the queue and I’m number 23…. I was number 8 the other day and it took 45 mins for them to answer, so no chance of getting through before the appointment.

Well as you won't be able to cancel and the appointment given to someone else I would attend, explain your symptoms and see if an examination can be done. If not at least the ball will be rolling with getting it sorted, they will rebook you for a more convenient time and have this appointment logged on your notes.

You can absolutely be examined on your period, I examine women who are bleeding every day

I had a uterine scan during TOM my male technician was absolutely fine when I explained and said I was happy to continue if he was.

take wipes to clean yourself up prior and for after.
