Just ate unsealed pizza

Prob sounds stupid, but I have anxiety about these things.
about 2 hours ago I ate shop bought fridge ham pizza and realised after that it was likely unsealed as I saw in the bin that the cardboard packaging had food leakage on it, on the inside. I didn’t notice the plastic had been breached when I opened it but now panicking that I’m going to get food poisoning if it had been opened for god knows how many days…Any reassurance? Am I being crazy?

Did it taste/smell ok?

ILikePistachios · 19/05/2024 20:01

Are you sure it wasn't condensation?

pinkbunnylugs · 19/05/2024 20:03

No, it was a brown-ish stain tinge, defo from food from within the box… ugh

smell and taste fine and I do have a good sense with those things… it’s just playing on my mind. Hubby says I’m mad, as I cooked it and ham has preservatives.

You'll be fine 😊

peopleonthebusgoupanddown · 19/05/2024 20:20

If you cooked it until it was pipping hot it will most likely be fine

Captainladder · 19/05/2024 20:21

If you cooked it then you should be absolutely fine, most bacteria would be killed at temperatures hot enough to cook a pizza

fluffiphlox · 19/05/2024 20:22

Personally I wouldn’t give it another thought.

pinkbunnylugs · 19/05/2024 20:26

Thanks everyone 😅 health anxiety is fun
