Could this be rheumatoid arthritis?

I’ve had pain in my shoulder for about three months, - I assumed I’d carried something too heavy etc but it hasn’t got better. It’s a bit painful to sleep on.

my wrist on the same side is also painful, but a sharp pain if I put weight on it.

now the wrist on my other arm is hurting too!

I’ve also had pain in my finger joints for over six months, I had put this down to peri menopause but now I’m wondering if this is the start of rheumatoid arthritis? Or am I massively overthinking?

im 48.

More likely to be osteoarthritis

Your GP can either confirm or rule it out with a blood test.

I agree it's more likely to be osteoarthritis.

RA is an autoimmune disease and it's diagnosed via blood tests (I think) so if you are concerned, see your GP.

Hi @Twoshoesnewshoes

Do you have an update on your situation?

Thanks

Hello @JustLaura, GP said bloods were clear so we are trying HRT for the general joint pain, and looks like osteoarthritis in my shoulder. I’ve been taking Vitamin D3 and K2 as recommended on here and i think it’s made a difference.

I could have written your original post!

Do you know what blood tests you had? I've had some back which are abnormal but my rheumatoid ones won't be back until Friday.

My GP said she was looking for inflammatory markers, I also was tested for iron.
