Is 7 weeks too long to wait for a root canal?

@ShrubRose Yes! I am on antibiotics but coming up to the last day, the pain has subsided slightly but still enough to effect day to day life.

My dentist is going to irrigate the tooth tomorrow and I will hope this will help?

The antibiotic should clear up the infection, so that should reduce the pain. Also, it sounds very old wives tale, but a warm salt water rinse really does help with the pain.

I've not had an irrigation, but sounds like an anti-bacterial deep-clean, which has to help.
