ECG / Routine Telephone Appointment

Hi, I had an ECG following diagnosis of High Blood Pressure which I have started medication for.

The ECG was done at the hospital last week. At the time the technician said that she couldn't give the results as the doctor had to review but if she saw something very concerning she wouldn't let me leave the hospital.

I have now had a text from the GP to organise a routine telephone appointment. Which I have managed to get for tomorrow.

Are Routine appointments after ECG the norm, I know I will be fretting all day about it? Thanks

In had a telephone call arranged and they confirmed it was normal. It's just a method of giving you the results.

Thank you that's reassuring to hear. 🤞 for the same. I have the NHS app and all results from blood tests have been loaded on that. So have got myself into a tizz why they have asked for an appointment and not loaded onto the app instead.

@Mrblueskys they will upload the results, but it's still necessary to ring you and to talk through next steps. ECG is just routine if you have new diagnosis. How high is your BP?

I have high blood pressure and other issues, sometimes the appointments are just to see how you are getting on with your meds etc and make sure your blood pressure is behaving.

Hi thanks for the replies it really did help me calm down. The weekend GP rang and he said the ECG results looked fine so a big sigh of relief. Although I do know I need to make some lifestyle changes.
